There are three ways to ask a yes/no question in French. The easiest is intonation — just raise your voice: Tu parles français ?
More formal: add Est-ce que at the beginning: Est-ce que tu parles français ? Most formal: inversion (swap subject and verb): Parles-tu français ?
For open questions, use question words: Qui (who), Que/Quoi (what), Où (where), Quand (when), Pourquoi (why), Comment (how), Combien (how much/many).

In everyday French, just raising your voice at the end is the most common way to ask a question.
Où has an accent (où = where) vs ou without accent (ou = or). The accent matters!
"Est-ce que" literally means "is it that" — it’s just a question marker, not a real phrase to translate.
Combien DE (how much OF): Combien de frères as-tu ? (How many brothers do you have?)
