Regular -ER verbs are the largest group in French — about 90% of all French verbs follow this pattern! If you master this conjugation, you can conjugate thousands of verbs.

The pattern: take the infinitive (e.g., parler), drop the -er ending to get the stem (parl-), then add the endings: -e, -es, -e, -ons, -ez, -ent.

Pronunciation trick: je parle, tu parles, il parle, ils parlent all sound EXACTLY the same! Only nous parlons and vous parlez sound different.

Watch for spelling changes: manger adds an extra e for nous: nous mangeons (to keep the soft "g" sound).
